Skagway Nightlife
Skagway is a small town with a rather small population. New and potential visitors to the borough often ask if nightlife does exist. One thing is for sure, there are a number of things to do in the evening, especially during summertime when the influx of tourists bring a lot more bustle into the town.
Some pubs and bars are open late in the night, and people who enjoy spending time with friends for a drink and some great food might want to try out Skagway’s recommended bars such as the Red Onion Saloon , decorated in a classic 1890s style when the place was established as an exclusive brothel. Moe’s Frontier Bar is also a great choice, and is very popular among the locals.
During the weekends and special occasions, some venues organize guest performances of live entertainment for their visitors. Some of these shows offer free entrances for all. The cruise liners depart in the evenings and many people enjoy seeing them set off into the horizon. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing. The wildlife is active in the evenings and some people enjoy spotting the animals, including the ones near the shore. Bear sightings occur as well, and they are more likely to be seen in town during the quieter evenings.
