Tourism in Skagway is continuously booming and this industry one of the borough’s main source of income.  It is also an important stop at cruise liner destinations as it is located at a strategic location.  Summer is a popular season choice for most visitors when hundreds of thousands of tourists flock the town for some fun-filled adventure.  There are lots of attractions and activities for everyone.

One of the best ways to start the holiday in Skagway is by familiarizing yourself with the historical infrastructures and the natural scenery.  A walking tour will do just that.  Visit the historical and cultural museums, for example: Klondike Gold Rush National, Skagway Museum, and Lynch & Kennedy, to learn more about the history of this ancient town that spans centuries since prehistoric times.

For a bit of active fun, take a boat tour or try your hand at fishing.  Hiking and trekking across the Yukon Chilkoot Trail is both adventurous and breath-taking at the same time.  Tourists might also enjoy other recommended activities such as taking photographs, visiting the parks and gardens, hopping on a train excursion on the White Pass & Yukon Railway, indulging in the fine restaurants in the region, shopping for souvenirs, etc.
