Attractions

Skagway is a popular tourist spot in the region and this beautiful location has much to offer its eager visitors.  The following shows a list of recommended attractions, but it should be noted that the town itself is incredibly picturesque with splendid views.

1 – Skagway Museum and Archives

Visitors can enlighten themselves with Skagway’s long past.  The museum is located at the McCabe College Building and features numerous historical photographs and records, artifacts, and even gambling equipment used during the 1898 Klondike Gold Rush.

2 – Gold Rush Cemetery
The graves of Jefferson Randolph Smith II (aka “Soapy” Smith) and Frank Reid can be found in the old Gold Rush Cemetery right by the Chilkoot Trail, both well known for the Juneau Wharf Shootout.

3 – Reid Falls
This breath-taking waterfall  is situated at the back of the Gold Rush Cemetery and has a height of about 136m.

4 – Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park
This historic park commemorates the Kondike Goldrush which occurred in the 1980s.  Its history involves Whitehorse (Yukon Territory), Dawson City, as well as the International Boundary (aka Canada-United States border).

There are so many more attractions worth visiting, including: Molly Walsh Park, Pullen Creek RV Park, Mascot Saloon, Corrington Museum of Alaskan History, Skagway Overlook, etc.
